Today is a proud day in the Sacramento Kings community as Kings’ rookie guard Bogdan Bogdanovic was recently named to the 2017-2018 NBA All-Rookie Second Team. Other players who will join Bogdanovic for this honor are Lonzo Ball, John Collins, Josh Jackson, and Dennis Smith Jr.

Rookie players who were named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team this season were Kyle Kuzma, Lauri Markkanen, Donovan Mitchell, Ben Simmons, and Jayson Tatum.

Well Deserved For Bogi

For the season, Bogdanovic averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.6% from the floor, 39.2% from the three-point line, and 84% from the free-throw stripe. He also recorded a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 13.51.

Although the Kings struggled as a collective whole this year, the team’s fanbase enjoyed watching Bogdanovic in action as he sparked the community to believe that the Kings’ rebuild could actually work.

As a player, Bogi was versatile. Offensively, he could score the ball in multiple ways and could set up his teammates to score as well. He also was very good at moving without the ball and could play physical defense at multiple positions.

Final Thoughts

Being named to the All-Rookie Second Team is a well-deserved honor for Bogdanovic as he showed this season he is a very unselfish and instinctive player.

Hopefully, this is only the beginning for the 6’5″ guard out of Serbia as the Kings will need him and the other young guys to keep improving in order for the Kings to return back to relevancy.

Congrats on the honor, Bogi! And the Kings community wishes you luck on recovering from your knee injury.
