Rumor has it that the NBA is planning on adding another summer league tournament to the league’s summer festivities. The city hosting the tournament is none other than the city of Sacramento.

According to Ben Dowsett, Deputy Editor of Basketball Insider, the NBA plans on starting a summer league tournament in the city of Sacramento which will begin this upcoming summer.

The report also says that the teams competing in the league will be the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and of course, the Sacramento Kings!

Other cities that will host upcoming summer league tournaments will be the cities of Las Vegas and Salt Lake City which already existed in the past.

My Thoughts

As a person who lives in Sacramento and vehemently follows the Sacramento Kings, I am pumped to hear this news. Because the team’s roster now consists of a lot young and promising talent, it will be super exciting and convenient for me, and lots of other Kings fans, to see them in action once this league gets started.

In recent past, the Kings played their summer league games in the Las Vegas tournament, so it is unknown whether they will still be participating in that league as well as the one hosted by Sacramento.

If so, more basketball for the Kings which will have the fanbase and I even more thrilled for this summer.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m so excited to hear that Sacramento will be hosting a summer league soon. I have always wanted to experience summer league games in person but never got the chance to because of where the leagues were located.

But if the news is true, which I believe it is, me as well as other Sacramento Kings faithful will get a great opportunity to see our team in action this summer in California’s capital.
