The Sacramento Kings travel to play the San Antonio Spurs on April 9.  Today, we examine the injury report for both squads heading into that game.

The Sacramento Kings may not have a ton riding on Monday’s contest, but their foe does.  The San Antonio Spurs can clinch a playoff berth with a victory against Sacramento.  The Spurs have reached the playoffs in every full season under Coach Popovich or 20 consecutive years.  On April 9, they can run that streak to 21 with a victory.

That should give the Kings a bit of added fight too.  They have the opportunity to keep the Spurs out of the playoffs if only for one night.  Knowing the importance of this game, let us take a look at the injury report for each team heading into the contest.

Sacramento Kings

No official word from the Kings heading in, but here is the story from my point of view.  Iman Shumpert (foot) and Harry Giles (knee rehabilitation) are out for the season.  Garrett Temple (ankle) and Skal Labissiere (ankle) appear to be trending in that direction.  There has been no official word, but also no updates on their injuries.  That is worrying, and I would consider both doubtful at best for the final two games.

Despite not being injured, Zach Randolph looks out for the season as well.  I wrote about the situation here if you are looking for more information.

Below is a Tweet from Jeff McDonald featuring a picture of the Spurs injury report for the April 9 game.

Only one player is a positive for the Spurs, but it is their most important player.  Kawhi Leonard’s injury and strife with the team has received a ton of ink.  It will be interesting to see if Leonard returns at all this season.  The fallout this offseason will be one of the top NBA storylines to watch.  Stay tuned.

Final thoughts

There you have it, the Kings and Spurs injury reports for their Monday evening clash.  Please tune in and cheer on Sacramento as they look to play spoiler.  They have a tough task ahead of them meaning the team needs all the support it can get.
