Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kings Survive To Beat Grizzlies 94-93

Bogdan Bogdanovic and the Sacramento Kings survived tonight’s game as they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies by a score of 94-93. Scroll down below to read the game summary and my final thoughts on the contest.
Game Summary
Despite not making a three-pointer in the first quarter, the Kings’ offense was solid as they had a success rate of 52% shooting from the floor. They also were able to limit the Grizzlies to 39% shooting which gave the purple and black a 25-22 lead after one. But once the second quarter was in play, everything changed. MarShon Brooks was hot for Memphis as he scored eight points in the period, and as a result, the Grizzlies took a 48-44 lead going into halftime.
Once the second half started, the Kings found their rhythm. The team collectively started to make their threes while limiting the Grizzlies to score just 15 points in the third. Once the third ended, the Kings found themselves back on top by a score of 68-63.
The fourth quarter is where things got interesting. The Kings took a “commanding” 12-point lead in the period, but then the Grizzlies rallied back.
If you decided to watch JUST the final minute of tonight’s game, props to you because that was all that you needed to see. With the game tied at 87 with a minute left, the Kings took the lead with a Willie Cauley-Stein dunk. After that, the Grizzlies took the lead back with a three-pointer from Mario Chalmers.
A few clutch shots later, that is right “a few”, the Kings trailed 93-92 with under ten seconds remaining. The Kings decided to go to Bogdan Bogdanovic for the possible game-winner, and to the team’s fortune, the Serbian star was able to make a mid-range fadeaway with one second left on the clock, inevitably sealing the win for Sacramento.
Final Thoughts
The first 47 minutes of tonight’s game was a bit of an eyesore, to say the least. But the final minute was able to make this night entertaining. Even though the Kings will not benefit from winning this game, because of where they will be placed in the draft lottery, tonight’s win will surely help the team’s current youth going forward.
And besides, Kings fan had a feeling the young guys were clutch. Now it seems certain since they showcased their late-game heroics in yet another game.
