Harry Giles has yet to play an NBA game, but he continues to excite Sacramento Kings fans with his tantalizing upside.  Continue reading to find out more.

Harry Giles is technically a rookie, but do not expect to see him on the court this season.  The Sacramento Kings decided to redshirt Giles in hopes of improving his lower body health.  You can read more about that here.  Once that news came out in January, I expected the words on Giles to be slim and the excitement to die down a bit, but that has not been the case.

The Kings official site recently posted a fantastic article on Giles.  Then, there are videos like the one James Ham Tweeted out recently that you can see below.

Excitement builds

The young man is clearly practicing and looks fantastic.  His size, speed, and athleticism once had in ranked at the top of his draft class.  Giles only fell to pick 20 because of his injuries.  I would like to mention Giles nickname should be the “Unicorn” because his talents almost seem mythical at this point.

I am not the only one raving about Giles, though.  Here is an article from Sactown Royalty with quotes from four of Giles teammates about his abilities.  I challenge you to read it and not be excited about Harry Giles suiting up for the Kings.  The question becomes when do we see it in an actual game?

Summer League?

The word is Giles will be playing in the Las Vegas Summer League this season.  That means in early July we could see him on the court with players like De’Aaron Fox, Frank Mason, and Justin Jackson.  I for one cannot wait for Summer League just to see Giles putting in work.

Final thoughts

Harry Giles continues to build excitement without stepping on the court.  The Kings have a potential game-changing big man who has yet to play an actual NBA game.  Remember, the Sixers did a similar thing with Joel Embiid and that seems to be working out quite well as they head into the playoff this season.  Hopefully, Giles remains health and becomes a force for the Kings next season.
