Garrett Temple to miss third straight game with ankle sprain
By Tyler Watts
Garrett Temple will miss the Sacramento Kings game on March 27 against the Mavericks with an ankle injury. Continue reading for more information.
Garrett Temple is the Sacramento Kings best perimeter defender without question. The veteran is no stranger to being asked to guard the league’s elite, and that is why the Kings have struggled recently. Temple injured his ankle in practice last week and missed every game since March 19. Kings fans were hoping for good news heading into Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, but below is a Tweet from James Ham regarding Temple’s injury.
The injury
Let us hope to hear some positive news during the broadcast this evening that Temple is at least making progress towards returning. His next chance to play will be Thursday against the Indiana Pacers. It is likely Temple misses a few more games, though. Stay tuned.
Who steps up?
The Kings will once again rely on youth to fill the void left by Temple. Bogdan Bogdanovic will start at the two. Buddy Hield will continue in that sixth man role off the bench coming in and looking to light up the scoreboard. Expect much of the same Sacramento has used in the two previous games with Temple sidelined.
Final thoughts
Garrett Temple’s left ankle sprain continues to keep him out. Tuesday marks the third straight game he will miss. Stay tuned for any injury updates as they become available. Hopefully, Temple returns to the court this season and continues teaching the young Kings.
