The Sacramento Kings will play against the Denver Nuggets tomorrow afternoon which will be the final time both teams will meet this season. Despite the Nuggets leading the season series 2-1, the Kings did win their previous match by a score of 106-98.

In this piece, we will examine what the Kings need to achieve in order to leave the Mile High City with a win.

Aggressive Guard Play

I think aggressive guard play from Sacramento will be the biggest key for them to play well, especially on the offensive end. This means players like Frank Mason, Buddy Hield, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and possibly De’Aaron Fox will need to up the offensive tempo, orchestrate the offense, and have a hot night shooting the ball.

The truth is that the Kings are probably not going to have much success defending the Nuggets’ offense. Not only are the Kings a subpar defensive team, but the Nuggets have been efficient offensively for their whole campaign. Their guards can make three-pointers at a high clip and their bigs are vastly skilled at their positions. Plus, the game is located in Denver which will challenge the cardio of the guys wearing purple and white.

Bottom line, I think the Kings can be competitive against the Nuggets tomorrow if they have success on the offensive end, but it will need to start with their guard play.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, I do not see the Kings accomplishing much tomorrow. The Nuggets are currently in a tight race for playoff seeding in the Western Conference so a game against a rebuilding Kings squad is a must win for them.

I think the Kings will show some fight but will come up short in the end. But hopefully, the youth of their team will display more positive signs in their developments. I think most Kings fans will take that as a moral victory anyway.
