The Sacramento Kings host the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 2.  This article previews the battle between Stephen Curry and De’Aaron Fox.

The Sacramento Kings begin a four-game homestand tonight against the Golden State Warriors.  The two teams have only played once this season and have three more matchups remaining.  Tonight the national television audience comes is as the game will be available on ESPN.

Last time out, the Kings traveled to New Orleans to face the Pelicans.  Sacramento rode a 26 point performance from Zach Randolph to a 114-103 victory on Tuesday.  Below is a highlight video of that game.

Today, we examine the matchup to watch and some final thoughts about the Feb. 2 contest between the Kings and the Warriors.

Fox vs. Curry

My colleague, Eric Clark, wrote a fantastic piece about De’Aaron Fox’s ever-evolving on-court game just the other day.   You can read that article here.  Every word is correct as Fox continues to improve each game.  He is starting to show the fans why he was a top-five selection.  The potential for Fox is enormous, but he faces a monster test tonight.

The rookie will matchup against two-time league MVP and perhaps the best shooter in the history of the NBA, Stephen Curry.  Curry is fresh off another massive month where he scored 29.5 points per game including a 49 point performance against the Celtics.  He is also shot 51.4% and 46.3% from 3-point land in January.  Fox will have his hands full defending Curry.  I often say the Warriors point guard is the most challenging cover in the NBA given his unlimited shooting range paired with his ability to get to the basket and score.

Final thoughts

Please tune in cheer on the Kings as they return home to face the Golden State Warriors.  Sacramento won the first matchup this season, but the Warriors appear to be at full strength this evening.  That means Curry will have Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green by his side in what is the scariest foursome in the NBA.  Golden State is the best team for a reason, and the Kings will need all the help they get to earn the victory tonight.  Enjoy the game.
