The Sacramento Kings defeated the Phoenix Suns tonight by a score of 99-92 due to the solid performance by their bench unit.

With no Devin Booker present for the Phoenix Suns tonight, it was a grand opportunity for the Sacramento Kings to get in the win column. Fortunately, the Kings were able to earn the victory on their home court. But it did not come easy.

Tonight’s game was a hard-fought win for Sacramento. Even with no Booker, the Suns were able to get good performances from T.J. Warren (18 points/5 rebounds), Mike James (17 points/5 assists), and Alex Len (9 points/8 rebounds).

The Kings were able to keep the score close but failed to grab the lead for the first two quarters. The Kings tied the game after the third period but still could not get in front. But to the team’s fortune, they went on an 11-0 run in the middle of the fourth which helped them rally for the inevitable win.

Key Notes

Although Zach Randolph had a great game as he recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, the bench for the Kings was the main reason why the team came out with the victory.

For the night, the reserves for Sacramento recorded 51 points, 25 rebounds, and 12 assists while playing physical defense on the other end. The group continues its trend by being one of the strongest bench units in the NBA.

Also, George Hill had himself a nice game as he recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. A nice way to bounce back after sitting out for Sunday’s game against the Toronto Raptors due to personal reasons.

Final Thoughts

Overall, tonight’s contest was a great chance for Sacramento to get a win as they faced off against an inferior opponent who were without their best player. Although they were bumps along the way, the Kings were able to come out on top due to multiple players on their roster having solid performances.

Next game for Sacramento will be on Thursday when they travel to the Twin Cities to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
