The Sacramento Kings ended their three-game road trip tonight as they faced the Atlanta Hawks. Scroll down below to see if the Kings were successful in getting the win.
The Sacramento Kings dropped their third consecutive game tonight as they were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 126-80. The Kings now hold a season record of 3-11 and remained ranked 14th in the Western Conference.
Game Summary
The Kings started the night off slow and did not get any better as the game went on. The Kings surrendered an early 9-0 lead to the Hawks which resulted in trailing 24-16 after the first quarter. The second period was even worse as the purple and white struggled immensely on both ends of the floor, resulting in a 64-35 lead for Atlanta going into halftime.
The Kings showed some light to start the second half, trimming the lead down to 19. But the Hawks quickly killed any momentum the Kings had as they increased the lead back to 31 points at the end of the third.
When the final quarter came along, the Kings opted to play their deep reserves, Frank Mason III, Georgios Papagiannis, and Skal Labissiere (questionable) to name a few, but it did not help as the Hawks were still able to outscore the Kings 34-19, capping off a brutal night for Sacramento.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this might have been the worst performance the Kings have had all year. Right from the start, the Kings had nothing going on both ends of the floor while allowing the Hawks to completely dominate.
The Kings just need to completely take this game out of their memory and try to start fresh as their next game will be against the Portland Trailblazers Friday night. Let us see if the Kings can turn their luck around when they are playing in front of their loud and proud fan base.
