The fans of the Sacramento Kings left the Golden 1 Center happy tonight as their team won in a thriller against the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 109-108.

To start the match, the Kings were slow (again) on offense as they missed their first five shots of the game. Fortunately, the Kings were able to gain their rhythm as they finished the first quarter strong by tying with the Sixers at 26.

The second quarter was even better for the Kings. Due to the excellent production from their bench, Sacramento was able to score 38 points in the period which had them leading the game going into halftime. For the contest, the Kings’ reserves were excellent, and it was mainly due to the play of their youth. To end the night, the group finished with 56 total points off 47% shooting from the floor.

Throughout the second half, the Kings and Sixers battled hard as both squads would trade leads back and forth all the way until the final minute of the match. On Sacramento’s final offensive possession, they were trailing 108-107 with under 24 seconds remaining. With the game on the line, Dave Joerger and the team put the ball in De’Aaron Fox’s hands which resulted in him making a clutch midrange shot which eventually sealed the victory for Sacramento.

Top performers for Sacramento tonight were Zach Randolph who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds, Justin Jackson who scored 19 points, and Willie Cauley-Stein who recorded 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Players who stood out for Philadelphia were Ben Simmons who finished with 18 points and 6 assists, Robert Covington who scored 24 points, and Joel Embiid who recorded 22 points and 15 rebounds.

Overall, this game was ideal for the Kings and their fans. Not only did the purple and white beat a solid squad in Philadelphia, but Sacramento won tonight due to the play of their young collective talent. Almost all the young Kings made a positive contribution to tonight’s game.

Hopefully, the Kings’ youth continues to shine and get better as the season goes on. The next time Sacramento hits the hardwood will be against the New York Knicks on Saturday night.
