Sacramento Kings take your best shot: Bogdan Bogdanovic
By Tyler Watts
A Royal Pain continues the take your best shot series by looking at the shooting of Bogdan Bogdanovic to identify his most efficient attempt in the NBA.
The Sacramento Kings revamped their roster this offseason. Their four talented rookies from the 2017 NBA Draft and three new free agents are not the only fresh blood in Sacramento, though. The Kings signed overseas stash player Bogdan Bogdanovic to a significant contract. Bogdanovic had fans excited, and his recent EuroBasket performance only ratcheted up the intensity.
Today, we examine Bogdanovic’s statistics with the goal of determining his best shot on the NBA court. I will caution that this is only a projection because he is a rookie. He will be facing NBA players for the first time and also be acclimating to a foreign country. The adjustment period could be a little bumpy. Without further ado, let us roll right into it.

Bogdanovic’s best shot
Bogdanovic has played professionally since 2011 (he is still only 25 years old), so I turned to RealGM for a look at his statistics. I focused in on the last three seasons and located why I think Bogdanovic can be the superior version on Buddy Hield this season. Bogdanovic shot 38.9 from 3-point range in the last three seasons combined over 827 attempts. It is important to remember that the 3-point line is closer to the basket in international play, but Bogdanovic looks to be an NBA league average 3-point shooter who can defend on the wings and take the offense into his hands as a secondary ball handler. Final Thoughts
Bogdan Bogdanovic is the Sacramento King with the most hype entering the season. Nobody knows how he will transition to the NBA, but the talent is clearly there. I am excited to see him on the court during the preseason because he could be the breakout player on the roster this season. Stay tuned for more information on Bogdanovic in the coming weeks as we head toward opening night.
