See which spots on the court George Hill is efficient in scoring the basketball.

Throughout these next couple of weeks, A Royal Pain will analyze the Sacramento Kings’ roster to see where each player is at their most efficient shooting the basketball.

The player who will be evaluated in this piece is newly acquired point guard, George Hill.

Where To Let It Go?

In their 2016-2017 campaign, the Utah Jazz became one of the top teams in the Western Conference. A big reason for this improvement came from the offensive production of George Hill.

According to his shooting chart from last year, Hill found great success scoring in the paint (62.3%), center midrange area (51.4), and from the wing/center perimeter spots (38.9%). Most likely, these locations will be areas for Hill to focus on when leading the Kings’ offense during the upcoming season.

It’s not a surprise, however, that Hill was an efficient scorer in these areas. Throughout his career, he has been a reliable player on both ends of the floor for every team he has suited for. Also, Hill not only averaged 16.9 points per game last season, but he also recorded great shooting percentages of 47.7% from the floor and 40.3% from the perimeter.

Final Thoughts

When seeing Hill’s shooting stats for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. Based on his percentages, it seems he will be an effective scorer for the Kings this season. Which will help benefit the team and De’Aaron Fox who Hill will take under his wing.

Although Hill’s numbers last season creates optimism for the Kings, the nine-year pro can only help his new team if he remains on the hardwood. Hill is coming off an injury-plagued season, so hopefully, he can be healthy this year and be the ideal mentor and player that he has shown to be in the past.
