Sacramento Kings Throwback Thursday: Isaiah Thomas
Welcome to the next edition of Throwback Thursday here on A Royal Pain! Today’s player was an extreme fan-favorite who has recently made many headlines!
For any NBA fan who may not know, yes, Isaiah Thomas was a member of the Sacramento Kings in the past. He has been very popular as a Boston Celtic providing the many entertaining 4th quarter performances. Thomas has recently made numerous headlines. After being part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics, Thomas, along with others have a new home with the Cavs. If you haven’t by now, read “This Is for Boston” by Isaiah Thomas. It’s a fantastic letter from a man that becomes a favorite wherever he plays. I can already imagine the fans of Cleveland will love him, not to jinx anything.
So folks, let’s talk about Thomas’s life with the Sacramento Kings!
The Player
Born on February 7th, 1989 in Tacoma, Washington, Thomas played college ball at the University of Washington, where he eventually was drafted by the Kings 60th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. Yes, the last pick of the 2011 NBA Draft is one of the stars of the NBA today. Crazy, right? Throughout his six years as a professional, Thomas has played for the Kings, Suns, Celtics and now, Cavaliers, although he hasn’t made his debut for them yet. One of the best games of the season will be that season opening matchup between his former Celtics and current Cavs.

The Numbers
Career Averages: 19.1 points, 5.2 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 44% field goal shooting, 37% from three.
His best overall season came last season with the Celtics, where he lead them to the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference with these per game stats: 29 points, 6.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 46% field goal shooting, 38% from three.
