Former Sacramento Kings’ two-guard, Aaron Afflalo, has found a new home after serving his recent season with the purple and white.

Aaron Afflalo has finally found a new team to play for in the upcoming NBA regular season. According to Adrian Wojnarowski‏, NBA Insider, Afflalo has come to terms on a one-year contract with the Orlando Magic

Returning Back?

This would be the second stint Afflalo will have with the Magic during his ten years in the NBA. Prior to this offseason, Afflalo spent two seasons with the Magic from the years 2012-2014. During that span, Afflalo averaged 17.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 44.9% from the court, 37% from beyond the perimeter, and 83.2% from the free-throw line.

Most likely, Afflalo will not be the same player he was when he played for Orlando a couple years back, but he still can be a positive contributor to the team.

What To Expect?

Based on how he performed with the Kings in his 2016-2017 campaign, he showcased most of his production on the offensive end. In terms of shooting, Afflalo was impressive as he made 44% of his shots from the floor, 41.1% from the three-point line, and 89.2% from the charity stripe.

Although Afflalo may help the Magic on the offensive end, he struggled mightily as a defender. At least when was with Sacramento.

During the time he was with the purple and white, Afflalo recorded an abysmal defensive rating of 117.1 which was ranked 17th among the 19 players that suited up in a Kings uniform last year.

Final Thoughts

The value of Afflalo’s contract is around $2 million, so this is a low-risk signing for the Magic. If the Magic are in need of an offensive boost for their squad, the team and their fans should be content with this acquisition.

Good luck going forward, Aaron. And thank you for your time as a Sacramento King!
