The Sacramento Kings’ roster is mainly composed of young and potential-filled players which everyone should know by now. It’s going to be fun, but rough.

With the Sacramento Kings quiet as expected in free agency, let’s take an early look as to what the next season may hold. Obviously, the Kings aren’t going to make the playoffs. They do not possess the experience as well as another crucial reason: their conference.

Loaded Western Conference

The Western Conference is absolutely loaded going into next season which does but does not bode well for the Kings. The Golden State Warriors are no doubt the team to beat in the West as they have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and the overall best NBA team. The Rockets have added Chris Paul to pair up with James Harden and the Thunder have added Paul George to team up with Russell Westbrook. Not to forget that the Timberwolves traded for Jimmy Butler to combine with Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony-Towns.

Kings Outlook

As to the Kings, we have to be patient with them as analyzed in this article. The reason this tough competition bodes well for the Kings is easy: fierce competition. The West has some top notch teams which will help the Kings develop and get experience playing against high-caliber opponents.

It doesn’t help a young team to face easy opposition every game. There aren’t any lessons to take away. However, when the Kings play teams in the West, a number of lessons will be learned which is good.

On the other hand, it does not bode well for the organization in general because as expected: wins won’t come easy. As other teams are acquiring star acquisitions, the Kings are patiently rebuilding. The Kings could be in for another season in which they only rack up 20-30 wins with this young team facing tough competition.
