The Sacramento Kings have one of the most exciting young cores in the NBA. By having likely nine players on rookie deals, basketball fans have been itching to see what they can do on the court. Although the season is far ahead, the closest thing to it is the NBA Summer League.
The Sacramento Kings are full of potential much like many other teams. Teams like the 76ers, Timberwolves, and Suns are among some teams who seem to be building dynasties. Fans get to see these rising stars compete against each other at the NBA Summer League. The Kings’ Summer League team is one of the most anticipated of the bunch.
Summer League 2017 starts on July 1st, but the Sacramento Kings do not compete until July 7th. The Kings will play their games in Las Vegas from July 7-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion at UNLV (Click Here For More Info).
The Kings have announced one confirmed participant for the Kings’ summer league roster so far, Dominique Hawkins (Source). Buddy Hield, Skal Labissiere, Malachi Richardson, Georgios Papagiannis, De’Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson, Harry Giles, Frank Mason, and Isaiah Cousins are likely also participate.
Stay tuned Kings fans, the future is bright. Fans all over the world are starting to change their perceptions about the Sacramento franchise as it seems they’ve made their first step back to the top. This will be the first look at the season of what this young Kings team is really made of.
The Summer League is not a big enough sample size to determine whether a player will become a bust or a star. It is meant to get a feel for the player’s game moving forward and see their strengths and weaknesses. Willie Cauley-Stein looked awful in last year’s summer league. He has since proven he is everything from a bust; possibly even a future All-Star. Down the line, the Kings seem to have a serious chance to contend with the best teams in the league. Although they’re years away from that, you can follow these future stars’ careers starting on July 7th.
