By Tyler Watts
The Sacramento Kings selected Justin Jackson with the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. This article is an instant reaction to that selection.
The pick is in! After trading back from pick ten to add an additional first round pick, the Sacramento Kings selected Justin Jackson from the University of North Carolina at pick 15. Here is my reaction to that selection.
Instant reaction
Justin Jackson fills another need for the Sacramento Kings. He is a 6’8 small forward who played three seasons at UNC. Jackson is a very accomplished player winning the ACC Player of the Year last season and a National Championship. Check out the highlight video below from his excellent season.
Jackson improved all three years in college and if he can continue that growth could bust out in the NBA. He is best as a catch and shoot and off the ball player. Jackson is a solid defender and has the potential to fill Sacramento biggest hole. Sacramento rated 27th in the NBA in defensive rating last season, and they have a no defensive wings on the squad. Let us hope Justin Jackson continues to improve on both sides of the ball and becomes a standout player for the Sacramento Kings. Final Thoughts
There you have it, my reaction to the King selecting Justin Jackson with pick 15 in the 2017 NBA Draft. Sacramento adds Jackson to De’Aaron Fox they selected at pick five in what is shaping up to be an exciting draft class for them. Pick 20 is fast approaching, let us hope the Kings continue making wise picks.
