A Royal Pain Prospect Profile: Jonathan Isaac

The Suns would love for Lonzo Ball to fall for them, and are trying to swap picks with the Lakers to select him. If they stay at four, their choice will come down to Jonathan Isaac, Jayson Tatum, or De’Aaron Fox and I think they go with Isaac. Tatum’s game mirrors their current wing TJ Warren, and I don’t see them taking Fox with Eric Bledsoe still on the roster.

Isaac is another long-term prospect to add to Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender which would test the patience of Suns fans. But his potential as a 3-and-D player would give the Suns a frontcourt trio perfect for the modern NBA with three long athletes that could guard the small-ball movement in the NBA. Isaac showed flashes of handling the ball in college and offers rim protection from the wing. If he adds strength and shows consistency with his jumper, Isaac could be the best player in the draft.
