27) Los Angeles Lakers (from Brooklyn via Boston)- Derrick White, Guard, Colorado, Senior

Stats per game 2016-17: 32.9 MIN/18.3 PTS/58 eFG%/40.1 3PT%/4.3 AST/4.1 REB/1.2 STL/1.4 BLK

Measurements from 2017 NBA Draft Combine: 6’4 ½” height with shoes/190 lbs. /6’7 ½” wingspan/8’5 ½” standing reach/

Derrick White is an underrated prospect that will make an impact immediately for whoever drafts him. He can play either guard spot, runs a crafty pick and roll, can score from all three levels, and knows how to manage an offense. He is a better athlete than he gets credit for and uses his size to defend both guard spots. His blocks and rebounding numbers are perfect for a guard and joining Lonzo Ball in the backcourt gives the Lakers a high IQ duo that would play well off each other. White is one of my favorite players in the draft.

28) Los Angeles Lakers (from Houston) – Jordan Bell, Forward, Oregon, Junior

Stats per game 2016-17: 29.1 MIN/11.0 PTS/64.2 eFG%/8.7 REB/1.8 AST/2.3 BLK/1.3 STL

Measurements from 2017 NBA Draft Combine: 6’8 ½” height with shoes/224 lbs. /6’11 ¾” wingspan/8’8 ½” standing reach

A Royal Pain Prospect Profile: Jordan Bell

The Lakers grab another west coast player in Jordan Bell. The Oregon forward was the PAC 12 Defensive Player of the Year and has the physical tools to become a small-ball five. He is an elite shot blocker who can switch on the perimeter and stick with guards. Bell has improved his offensive game, developing a nice set of post moves with both hands. His jumper is inconsistent, but Bell impacts the game defensively so much he will get minutes.
