12) Detroit Pistons- Zach Collins, Forward/Center, Gonzaga, Freshman

Stats per game 2016-17: 17.2 MIN/10.0 PTS/67.6 eFG%/47.6 3PT%/5.9 REB/.4 AST/1.8 BLK/0.5 STL

With their whole roster seemingly on the trade block, the Pistons could go a number of ways with this selection. Andre Drummond may have worn out his welcome in Detroit, opening the door for Stan Van Gundy to pick Gonzaga’s versatile big man Zach Collins. SVG builds his offense by surrounding an active big man with shooters making Collins the ideal fit. He produced efficiently in limited playing time and can score inside or outside. His shot blocking numbers bode well for protecting the rim at the next level. Improving his basketball IQ and staying out of foul trouble are critical to reaching his ceiling. Donovan Mitchell could be in play for Detroit, but Collins has more upside and is a better fit in Van Gundy’s system.
