2. Los Angeles Lakers- Lonzo Ball-PG- UCLA

The Los Angeles Lakers were lottery lucky again this season.  They moved up to second overall, and as I mentioned in my first mock draft, they would find a way to get Lonzo Ball.

It will be interesting to see if Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka can secure a few free agents this offseason and return the Lakers to playoff contention.  Their roster will feature four straight lottery picks, and the fanbase is getting restless so expect Los Angeles to be active in free agency.

Why Lonzo Ball?

Lonzo Ball’s A Royal Prospect Profile

The Lakers are in desperate need of a distributor, and local product Lonzo Ball comes with immense hype and potential.  Ball is not the selection I would make, but he averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in 35.1 minutes a game at UCLA last season.  He is a 6’6 point guard that is raw with an awkward jumper but features an intriguing skillset.

The worst-kept secret in the NBA is that Ball only wants to play for the Lakers.  He even refused to workout for the Celtics and publicly stated the Lakers are his preferred destination.  Expect to see his wish become a reality on June 22.
