24. Utah Jazz- Anzejs Pasecniks- C- Gran Canaria (International)

Pick 24 is the first of two Utah Jazz late first round selections.  They also own pick 30.  The Jazz will be looking for at least one stash player on June 22.

Two players to monitor this offseason for Utah are Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors.  The latest reports have it being slightly over a coin flip that Hayward stays in free agency.  Derrick Favors is coming off a down season, and the Jazz could trade him away if they don’t like the fit with Rudy Gobert.  Keep an eye out for those offseason storylines.

Why Anzejs Pasecniks?

Anzejs Pasecniks profiles as a stretch five that can be a successful roll man in the league.  He is 21 years old and still needs to fill into his frame a bit more and add polish to fulfill that profile.

Pasecniks is not good on the defensive end, and that is the biggest factor in him playing limited minutes overseas.  Teaming with and learning from Rudy Gobert could be a big help to Pasecniks, but he probably stays overseas for a season or two before transitioning to the NBA.
