1. Boston Celtics (via Brooklyn Nets)- Markelle Fultz- PG- Washington

The Boston Celtics are fresh off an Eastern Conference finals loss and winning the lottery.  Boston was in the lottery because of a genius trade with the Brooklyn Nets that netted them three first-round picks and the right to swap picks this season.  They also hold Brooklyn’s first round selection next year which should be another early lottery choice.

The Celtics do not have a glaring hole in their squad and will be looking for the best overall player.  Boston is hoping to use the draft and free agency to put together the team that gets passed LeBron James and reaches the NBA Finals.

Why Markelle Fultz?

Markelle Fultz is the player with the fewest holes in his game.  The 19-year-old played on a bad Washington team last season but still showed what a force he can be.

Expect to see Fultz scoring, creating, assisting, and providing some nifty ball handling for a Celtics team that should make a deep run in the playoffs.  I am most interested to see the fit playing alongside Isaiah Thomas and if the defense from both players provides a problem for Boston.  Another storyline to follow next season is how the Celtics eliminate their logjam of guards with Fultz joining the fray.  Stay tuned.
