Sixth Man: Bismack Biyombo

The big man from Congo was sent to the Charlotte Bobcats in a draft night trade that resulted in the selection of Jimmer Fredette for Sacramento. Biyombo struggled in limited playing time with Charlotte before finding a role in Toronto as an athletic big off the bench.

Interior defense and rim protection are Biyombo’s strengths and they were on full display last postseason, highlighted by a franchise-record 26 rebound performance in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. His 2016 playoff showing led him to sign a 4-year/$72 million contract with the Orlando Magic the following offseason.

If the Kings decided to keep Biyombo, his energy would have fit right in with the Sacramento crowd. Meanwhile, Jimmer has bounced around the NBA and is currently in China with the Shanghai Sharks where he led the league in scoring at 37.6 points per game.
