2012 League-owned New Orleans wins

It is strange that in 2012 the only team the league-owned got the first overall pick and was able to select Anthony Davis.  Remember this was just after the Chris Paul trade and the New Orleans Hornets at the time needed a boost.  Did I mention David Stern virtually owned the team and wow they selected first overall despite having a 13.7% chance of doing so?  This one seems a little bit fishy to me, but again you be the judge.
