HIGHS

Young Bigs: The group of Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere, and Georgios Papagiannis played a big role for the Kings tonight as they totaled 43 points, 20 rebounds, and 5 blocks. The trio continues to give Sacramento Kings fans optimism for the future as they continue to get better the more playing time that they receive.

Darren Collison: Darren Collison did a great job tonight in opening up opportunities for the big guys to score and also was efficient in getting his own points as well. For the game, Collison recorded 15 points and 10 assists while shooting 5-8 from the floor. Darren was the ideal facilitator for the Kings tonight at the Staples Center.

Perimeter Shooting: The three-point shot continues to be the Kings’ friend. For tonight’s game, the Kings shot an effective 8-20 from beyond the perimeter led by the performances of Buddy Hield and Ben McLemore who combined for 5-9 from the area.

LOWS

Turnovers: Another game, another performance by the Kings where they turned the ball over at a high rate. For the game, Sacramento recorded a whopping 23 turnovers for the night. It’s been stressed already during these recaps, but the Kings need to put more of an emphasis on ball security when they hit the hardwood going forward.

Bench Scoring: The bench usually contributes a significant portion of the Kings’ points on a nightly basis, but tonight was different. For the game, the reserves for Sacramento combined for 27 points while shooting 11-27 from the floor. As a result, it played a part in why Sacramento only scored 94 points for the game.

Julius Randle: The bigs were solid for Sacramento tonight, but Lakers’ forward Julius Randle outpowered everyone in tonight’s match. For the game, Randle was able to record 25 points and 6 rebounds as he gave the Sacramento defense fits throughout the entire night.
