Dallas Mavericks Scouting Report
The Dallas Mavericks enter tonight’s game with a record of 32 wins and 44 losses and currently sit eleventh in the Western Conference standings. They are eliminated from playoff contention this season.
Last time out, the Mavericks traveled to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks. On the back of a 31 point Harrison Barnes performance, Dallas was victorious 109-105 on Sunday. Below is a highlight video from that game to give you a glimpse at the Mavericks most recent form.
Harrison Barnes: Face of the Mavericks?
With Dirk Nowitzki fast approaching 40 years old, Dallas is going to be looking for their next franchise player. Obviously, they are difficult to come by, but the team may have found that replacement already.
Harrison Barnes came to Dallas this offseason on a hefty contract after four seasons with the Golden State Warriors. Barnes has become a focal point on offense averaging 19.5 points per game this season on stellar percentages. At just 24 years old, Barnes still has room to grow and slowly seems to be taking over the mantle from an aging Dirk Nowitzki.
Be on the lookout for a big performance from Barnes if he plays tonight. Also, continue to monitor his maturation in the coming seasons. From what I have seen so far it looks like big things are ahead of Mister Barnes.
