Sacramento Kings: Looking at the Week Ahead- April 3 Edition
By Tyler Watts
This article takes a look at the Sacramento Kings’ schedule for the week of April 3 to April 9 to give you a guide of what is ahead.
The Sacramento Kings do not leave the state of California for the rest of the regular season. Their remaining five games feature three home contests and two trips to the Staples Center in Los Angeles in a strange scheduling quirk.
This week, the Kings play three games. The play two home games and travel to the play the Los Angeles Lakers mid-week.
It would be great to see Sacramento end their season on a high note and the remaining five games look pretty generous to do just that.
Let us now take a closer look at each of the Sacramento Kings’ games for this week.
Game 78 vs Dallas Mavericks
When- Tuesday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific
Where- Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California
The Dallas Mavericks have hit a recent skid that has eliminated them from playoff contention. Dallas has won just four of their last twelve games including blowout losses to the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Golden State Warriors.
If the Kings can keep Harrison Barnes in check, they should walk away victorious on Tuesday night.
Game 79 at Los Angeles Lakers
When- Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific
Where- Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
The Kings travel to Staples Center for the fourth and final regular season meeting against the Lakers. Sacramento has won two out of the first three meetings this season.
The teams have yet to play since they both decided on go young and let the young players play, though. This Lakers squad has experienced similar growing pains to the Kings making this game even more interesting come Friday evening.
Game 80 vs Houston Rockets
When- Sunday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific
Where- Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California
If you are a diehard Kings fan, might I suggest a Sunday afternoon nap over the Kings game? Sacramento has played Houston three times this regular season and the Rockets have blown out the Kings in all three contests. Ryan Anderson has proven to be a tough matchup for Sacramento and Houston just appears to have their number. I am hoping they prove me wrong, but history suggests a Rockets victory on Sunday by a wide margin.
