Familiar faces were seen in tonight’s Sacramento Kings game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Unfortunately, a familiar result for the purple and black was showcased as well.

In tonight’s games, the Kings lost to the Pelicans by a score of 117-89. Listed down below are the highs and lows of tonight’s game pertaining to the Kings.

HIGHS

Rebounding: The Kings are usually an abysmal rebounding team based on the numbers this season, but in tonight’s game, they were surprisingly adequate. For the game, the Kings outrebounded the Pelicans, who have Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, by a score of 52-44.

Buddy McLemore: The group of Buddy Hield and Ben McLemore were main contributors to the Kings’ offense tonight as they totaled 28 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists while shooting 12-25 from the floor. Not only were the pair efficient in scoring tonight (expected), but both were able to showcase their ability to rebound and distribute the ball (not as expected).

Willie Cauley-Stein: Cauley-Stein showcased massive effort in tonight’s game, and as a result, he was rewarded in the stat column. What else is new? For the game, Cauley-Stein was able to record 11 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 5-8 from the floor. Cauley-Stein continues to display improvement in his rebounding game as he has averaged 11.3 rebounds per game in his last four outings.

LOWS

Turnovers: The Kings’ turnover woes continued in tonight’s game as they recorded 21 turnovers for the night. As a result, it helped the Pelicans gain momentum throughout the entire game which helped New Orleans win the match in comfortable fashion. Turnovers remain to be the Achilles heel for the Kings’ offense this season.

Twin Towers: The duo of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins were outstanding for the Pelicans tonight. For the game, the pair were able to record 56 points, 25 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 7 blocks. Kings fans knew that Cousins was motivated to play against his former team tonight, but the Kings could only hope that he wouldn’t be this dominant. No mercy from Boogie tonight.

Perimeter Shooting: The offense for the Kings is as effective as their perimeter shooting. Unfortunately, Sacramento was only able to make 31.6% of their three-pointers tonight, resulting in a stagnant offensive performance by the Kings.
