The Sacramento Kings lost a tough game today against the Utah Jazz by a score of 110-109. Listed down below are the highs and lows of today’s matchup pertaining to the Sacramento Kings.

HIGHS

Scoring Distribution: The scoring was as evenly balanced as it could for the Sacramento Kings today. As a result, seven different players wearing purple and white scored in the double-digits. With no more DeMarcus Cousins on the team, the Kings need to rely on their collective group to score in order to remain competitive against their opponents, and today’s performance should be an encouraging sign for Kings fans to see.

Three-Point Shooting: The Kings’ perimeter shooting was solid in today’s game as they made 47.1% of their baskets (8-17) from beyond the three-point line. As a result, Sacramento’s offense was able to be efficient today against an elite defense of the Jazz.

Point Guards: The duo of Darren Collison and Ty Lawson helped the Kings big time in today’s game. For the day, the pair totaled 37 points and 10 assists off 15-27 shooting from the floor. Although the scoring was balanced throughout the entire Kings’ roster, Collison and Lawson were the main reasons why the Kings’ offense was successful today as they both scored and set up their teammates for buckets.

LOWS

Rebounding: The Utah Jazz had their way against the Kings today in the rebounding matchup. With the help of their star big Rudy Gobert, Utah outrebounded Sacramento by a score of 46-37 and won the offensive rebounding game as well 11-5. As a result, it helped Utah remain competitive and gain valuable second-chance points throughout the game.

Rodney Hood: Rodney Hood was a stud as he gave the Kings’ defense fits throughout the whole afternoon. For the game, Hood scored 28 points while shooting 10-17 from the floor and 4-8 from the perimeter. The Jazz needed a player today to take control of the offense, and Hood was the player for them that stepped up.

Fourth Quarter: The Sacramento Kings overall had a solid game, but their performance in the fourth quarter today cost them the win. In the fourth quarter, the Kings’ offense had trouble putting the ball in the bucket against a stout Jazz defense. The guys wearing white saw their “comfortable” 12-point lead dropped to a tied game as they were outscored by Utah 28-16 in the final period of the game.
