Defense Needs More Work

The Sacramento Kings allowed 102 points against the Magic and that was only the second time this season the Magic scored over 100 points.  The other game Orlando scored over 100 points was against the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to NBA.com/stats, Sacramento is playing at the second slowest pace in the NBA and yet still allowing 102.5 points per game.  The defense has improved from being the worst in the NBA last season and all the stats have a small sample size, so they could be very misleading.  I will say that once the Kings get out of this insane stretch of games, I expect Coach Joerger to continue to tweak and improve the Kings defense.

I am excited about the prospect of the Kings playing above average defense in the near future.  It is definitely possible under Coach Joerger, so continue to monitor how the defense is progressing.  I have faith in Coach Joerger turning it around.
