The Sacramento Kings completed their preseason and are preparing to open the regular season on Wednesday, October 26th.  This article examines their preseason highlights.

The Sacramento Kings completed their preseason and the games finally count now.  The problem is waiting for Wednesday to see the opening tip.  I have been pumped for basketball the last few days, but there are no games to enjoy.  If you have had the same feeling then I am here to try to help.  This article features the top plays from every Kings’ preseason game.

Sit back and enjoy the highlights again or maybe for the first time along with a short paragraph about each game.

Game 1: Loss versus Los Angeles Lakers 103-84

It was a tough preseason start, but no player played more than 24 minutes.  It was sloppy at times and the Kings were just working out the kinks under new Coach Dave Joerger.  Let us not dwell on this game.

Game 2: Loss versus Golden State Warriors 105-96

This was the only preseason game the Kings did not have a highlight video.  The Kings had 17 steals in the game as a team and got their first look at this new incarnation of the Warriors.  Durant scored 25 and Cousins poured in 20 of his own.  Kings’ preseason was looking rough with a 0-2 start, but then things started looking up.

Game 3: Win versus Maccabi Haifa 135-96

This game was our first look at the Ty Lawson and Darren Collison sharing the court line-up.  It was also the first preseason win and the first Kings game in the Golden 1 Center.  A night of firsts for sure, but the most important to me was a Kings win.

Game 4: Win versus Los Angeles Lakers 116-104

The Kings exact some revenge on the Lakers.  This game was played in Las Vegas and marked the first start for Skal Labissiere.  Rudy Gay, Darren Collison, and Anthony Tolliver lead the box score for the Kings in a fun and exciting win.

Game 5: Win versus Washington Wizards 124-119

A limited highlight video for this game as it features Wizards’ highlights as well.  The Kings traveled to Kentucky to play the Wizards.  Most headlines heading into the game surrounded the match-up of Wall vs Cousins, two Kentucky alumni.  The headlines after the game were about Ty Lawson not traveling to Kentucky, but later that turned out to be a non-issue.  Sometimes we make a mountain out of a molehill.

Game 6: Loss versus LA Clippers 92-89

DeMarcus Cousins had a big game, but it was not enough to defeat the LA Clippers.  They really changed their name to the LA Clippers, so be on the lookout for that this season.  I won’t say much about this game either as I don’t like to dwell on the losses.

Full Preseason Highlights

The Kings produced one last video, a preseason highlight compilation.  Here it is for all of you wanting one last video before the regular season kicks off.

Summary

The Kings finished the preseason with a record of 3-3 and as you can see, produced some highlight plays.  That is all over now and slate gets wiped clean.  The basketball begins to count now and I am beyond excited.
