Avid Sacramento Kings fans know their team has not done so well when it comes to the NBA draft lottery.
Throughout the lottery’s history, the only time that the Kings benefitted from this event was all the way back in 1989 when they were projected to get the 6th pick but instead struck gold and got the 1st overall pick in the entire draft.
Other than that, the Kings have stayed in the same place that they were projected to be at 9 times in the lottery’s history and have bounced back from their original spot 10 times as well. To see more details on the Kings history with the draft lottery you can click here: (per Basketball RealGM).
This year, the Kings draft pick may be in jeopardy. The Kings are currently projected to receive the 8th pick in the draft when the lottery is said and done, but if they end up being outside the top 10 they will have to surrender their pick to the Chicago Bulls based on following the guidelines of a previous trade that the Kings made with the Cleveland Cavaliers years ago.
There are many sources stating that Kings rookie Willie Cauley-Stein will be representing the Kings organization for the draft lottery. Unlike previous rookies from Sacramento, Cauley-Stein has made a positive impact on his team in his rookie season through his production on defense, improvements on offense, and by his tireless effort on the court.
Cauley-Stein seems to have broken the streak of notorious first round draft picks for the Kings in recent history, but is he able to break the streak of the Kings misfortune in the draft lottery too?
