4) Boogie Splits The Spurs Defense: There is a legitimate debate that DeMarcus Cousins is a top five talent in the NBA. He has a unique blend of size and skill for a player in his position and he showcased that particularly on one play against the San Antonio Spurs this weekend.

With three minutes left in the first quarter, the Kings were trailing the Spurs 16-19. During this time Cousins was at the top of the key being guarded by Boban Marjanovic.

Most big man in this situation would look for their guard to pass it to, but remember Cousins isn’t no ordinary big man. Instead, Cousins dribbled past Marjanovic and drove to the basket where he split through two different Spurs players for the dunk. This dunk also was the 8,000th career points that Cousins has recorded in his NBA career.

Kings fans are accustomed to seeing Cousins making plays that defy his position, so as a result they look at these type of plays as normal. We still have to remember that Cousins is 6’11, and the type of plays that he showcases on a gamely basis are unusual to see for others.
