12. Vlade Divac’s Jersey Retirement: Statically, Vlade Divac may not have been the best player, but considering everything he brought to the table he was one of the best assets Sacramento has ever acquired.
For Vlade, it wasn’t only that he was good, but he made others better. With the mix of his talent and leadership for his team, Divac became one of the major components for the Kings to building a foundation that eventually lead the Kings to reaching the playoffs 8 consecutive seasons.
On March 31st, 2009, the Kings did right by honoring the former center by having the number 21 retired in the Kings organization (video here). The only knock to the night was that the Kings loss to the New Orleans 111-110 by a last minute shot by Rasual Butler (video here).
