29. Jason Williams/Mike Bibby Trade: During the 2001 NBA offseason the Kings decided to trade fan-favorite Jason Williams and Nick Anderson in exchange for Mike Bibby and Brent Price from the Vancouver Grizzlies. When the trade was first reported many fans were confused to why it happened. Williams at the time was a player on the right track of achieving his high potential, and fans wanted to continue to see him flourish in a Sacramento uniform.
However, as fans know today the trade ended up benefiting the Sacramento Kings greatly. Before Bibby came to Sacramento, the team was doing well, but he helped take the team to another level. In the first three years in Sacramento, Bibby helped take the team to one Conference Finals appearance and two Conference Semifinals appearances.
What made Bibby special was that he was super clutch. Whenever the Kings needed a crucial bucket, Bibby was always a serious candidate to consider putting the back on his back. And for the most part, he did.
