Ellis is a player that the Kings have been targeting since the Maloof era. The last time Monta Ellis was a free agent the Kings were linked to him as close as any other team.
It is now being reported that the Kings are once again “interested” in Monta Ellis.
Ellis is coming off of a terrific year this past season with the Mavs. Before the Rondo trade, the Mavericks were the number one offense in the league and they were running their offense mainly through Monta Ellis.
I am really enamored with Ellis in a Kings uniform, but unfortunately I think the Kings money situation keeps him off of their target list. He is also not a youngster anymore, so don’t be surprised to hear reports that he only wants to be on a contending team.
