Wow, right? I am not a huge supporter of this free agency signing but Rondo, while he can be a headache is a proven winner and a player that can bring the leadership this team obviously needs.

Rondo was a plus defender in his past. If he could bring that guy with his amazing passing abilities, then that is a player that can really help this team moving forward.

However I still have too many concerns and stipulations that have to happen before I would be excited for a Rondo signing.

As for concerns, look what we just recently saw in Dallas. If that is the player the Kings are acquiring then the team is just wasting their money. Laziness, stubbornness, and embarrassing are the three words that described his stint in a Mavericks uniform.

On top of all that, he does not know how to get the ball in the basket. His shooting percentages across the board are atrocious and while this Kings team doesn’t necessarily need another scorer, they do need someone who can hit a shot.

There are reports that the Kings and the nine year veteran have mutual interest in joining one another. My stipulations would be that the team would have to sign Rondo to a one year deal and have a team option for the following season. This would give the Kings leverage over Rondo and it also makes the point guard earn his money.

When you are the Kings and in a small market you have to acquire talent and getting a guy like Rondo, while I’m not a fan of it, is definitely something that should be considered.
