Well Sacramento Kings fans, it was fun while it lasted. We were one of the surprise teams in the league early in the season. DeMarcus Cousins was unstoppable, Rudy Gay was doing his thing, and even the bench was contributing big.

  • Ah, those were the days. The days where Sleep Train Arena was hoping, and we were so filled with hope that this could be the year that the Kings become relevant again. We were thinking playoffs, and why not? After suffering through two gut-wrenching seasons of wondering if the team would even be in town, we had to grab on to something.

But flash forward to today, and that fleeting hope that we once had is now gone. That Kings’ team that was 9-5 to start the season is now 11 games below .500. Our coach, Michael Malone, was shown the door, and in his place is a head coach that has no business being a head coach.

Our once dominate home court advantage? Also gone, as the Kings have dropped 14 out of their last 20 games at home. And the fans who once sent out tweets praising the team, now sends out tweets like this:

To put the icing on the cake, last night was one of the lowest points in Kings history, as Klay Thompson outscored the Kings all by himself (37-22) and turned a once close game into a 126-101 rout by the red-hot Warriors, our arch nemesis.

It is safe to say that we should stop focusing on if the Kings can make the postseason, and focus on the offseason, because the Kings are going to be lottery bound again. This would be comforting if the Kings actually made competent decisions in the offseason.

They said Jimmer Fredette would be a stud, now he is in New Orleans getting garbage time. Oh, and our first round stud Nik Stauskas? Well, let’s just say he is an NBA project, at best, and another Kings bust at worse.

Now we can only pray to Jesus, Allah, Buddha, the legends of NBA past, whoever, that this summer will actual bring help to a Kings team that really needs it.

But who knows? Maybe this will be our next draft pick:

Yea, I guess the only positive thing we have to look forward to is this:
