Lets just call this the #JimmerNation Revenge game where Jimmer Fredette fans get to troll for one night on how the Kings will be cursed for not playing him 30 minutes a game so he can average a 20 a game for the season (Seriously some dude called in on KHTK 1140 believing that and then explained how he would cancel his season tickets now).

The Sacramento Kings looked completely unprepared to play tonight as they got smacked by the Houston Rockets 129-103. The fellas never seemed to have a chance because James Harden decided to go beast mode from the first quarter on. He scored 22 in the 1st (on his way to 43 total points) which was part of a ridiculous (even for the Kings) 42 point quarter which put the Kings down 25. Sac never got really back into the game after that as the closest they cut the lead to was 15 prior to DMCs meltdown. On that note…

BOOGIE TOSSED

DeMarcus Cousins picked up two technicals with referee Courtney Kirkland after a foul call on a Dwight Howard lob. DeMarcus, shockingly, was in disbelief over the call and started chirping at Kirkland and then stared dude down on his way back to the other end of the court. Then during a timeout, this happened. Cuz looked very mad. Calm down bro!

After that, many folks took to twitter to give their Hot Sports Takes on Cousins’ latest episode and how it’s a major step back for him. Yeah,  because he suddenly became COMPLETELY calm and collected, this year with his much more consistent and improved performance! Anyways, it is what it is and you must take the good with the bad. I will say that it doesn’t seem like Cousins realizes that he’s not giving himself a chance to earn the benefit of the doubt with his constant chirping (which happens in both wins and losses, as hard as it may be for folks to believe).

UPDATE (10:49PM): DeMarcus apologized via Twitter:

ISAIAH STRUGGLES

Isaiah Thomas had one of his worst performances of this season (there haven’t been that many) as he was constantly being doubled off the screen and was guarded well by Patrick Beverley throughout the game. He shot 4 for 14 for 12 points, 5 assists and 3 turnovers.

DERRICK WILLIAMS LOOKS LOST

I’m not sure I understand what Derrick Williams is trying to do off the bench. Most annoying, is his tendency to take the turnaround fade away out of a post-up opportunity. He isn’t driving to the rim as much as he should, in my opinion, and he’s not been able to get out on the break either. He looks lost in the half-court offense with the 2nd unit and even more so when Rudy, DeMarcus and Isaiah are out on the floor. Obviously some deeper level analysis is needed here and while he’s not a future star anymore, it all still matters because the Kings need to find out what his strengths are. To be fair, the coaching staff may not be using him correctly so who knows?

ON JIMMER

Jimmer being bought out by the Kings is a good thing for both sides and there is plenty of blame to go around regarding how his career has gone since he was drafted by the Kings back in 2011. Hopefully he will thrive on another squad and never stop shooting that rock because he was absolutely born to launch that thing.

JASON THOMPSON PLAYS 5 MINUTES

JT logged the first 5 minutes of the game and did not start in the 2nd half. No word on why but nothing indicates any injury. Stay tuned.

NEXT UP

The Kings will take on the Infidels from Los Angeles in a Friday night tilt at the Staples Center.
