In recent weeks, if you’ve turned on your television or browsed the web, you’ve likely come across some type of publicity from Malcolm Gladwell, a best-selling author. From appearances on David Letterman to CNN, Gladwell has been promoting his recent work, which features the power of the underdog – specifically citing Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive as a prime example.
CBS’ 60 Minutes picked up on the story and did a piece on Gladwell, which was focused around Ranadive and how he went from coaching his daughters basketball team to owning your Sacramento Kings.
You’ll need to scroll to about the 2:20 mark before Ranadive makes his appearance, but it’s certainly an interesting piece. There’s not a ton of Kings talk of course as the piece is specifically tied to Ranadive’s coaching of the basketball team, but it’s still very much worth your while.
There’s also a few funny moments too, where Ranadive suggests that a parent took such objection to his coaching style, he wanted to fight the Kings owner in the parking lot.
