Every year, basketball fans line up to grab their copy of NBA 2K – the lone (and usually fantastic) basketball video game release. While NBA Live has been in competition with Take Two in recent years, their sub-par product wasn’t really much of a challenger and the difference between the two games eventually lead to NBA Live having to skip a release in order to restructure their game.
NBA Live will return this year, but, taking the crown from 2K will be nearly impossible, especially thanks to the ties NBA 2K has to current players. One such player is Sacramento Kings rookie Ben McLemore, who tweeted out his rating this afternoon.
Per Ben:
"Hey everybody my ratings on 2k14 is 72 with high potential. Shout out to @Ronnie2K"
For comparison, Victor Oladipo of the Orlando Magic (who was drafted 2nd overall) is rated 76 while Anthony Bennett (first overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers) is also rated 76, so the 72 rating seems pretty fair overall.
NBA 2K will release for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 next month and in September for XBox One and Playstation 4.
