Although we all bleed purple, we’d be lying if we didn’t say the glory year Kings didn’t hold an extra special place in our heart.
Knowing that and wanting to pay homage, the Sacramento Kings recently introduced the new ‘Legacy’ t-shirt, which will be a series of six shirts that pay tribute to Vlade Divac, Chris Webber, Bobby Jackson, Peja Stojakovic, Doug Christie and Mike Bibby.
Bobby Jackson’s shirt was the first released, which you can pick up at the team store with Peja’s coming this week.
The shirts are more or less a replica of the famed black jersey the Kings wore in the early late 90’s and early 2000’s during the best years of the franchise.
Of course, if you’ve checked out the prices for those styled uniforms on eBay you’ll notice that they’re quite popular, with swingman variations selling for $100 dollars while authentic’s sell upwards of $200-$250.
It’s a pretty cool tribute and one that will be quite popular among the purple and black loyalists throughout the season.
Hopefully we’ll see these on the hardwood again as an alternate/throwback.
