Sacramento Kings: Looking at the Week Ahead- April 10 Edition
By Tyler Watts
This article takes a look at the Sacramento Kings’ schedule for the week of April 10 to April 16 to give you a guide of what is ahead.
The Sacramento Kings wrap up the regular season with a Tuesday and Wednesday back-to-back this week. The Kings’ young players have shown positive signs in recent games and the future looks bright for Sacramento. Let us hope that the Kings close the season strong and continue to build on this team in the offseason.
Let us now take a closer look at each of this week’s games to whet your appetite for them.
Game 81 vs Phoenix Suns
When- Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific
Where- Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California
The last time these two teams met, the Kings traveled to Phoenix and scored a victory over the Suns 107-101 on March 15. Skal Labissiere played an amazing game scoring 32 points and chipping in 11 rebounds and 2 steals. Below is a highlight video from that game to refresh your memory on the happenings.
This has all the makings of a back and forth end to end game between two young squads. Both teams are lottery bound and have a plethora of young emerging players. I always enjoy watching this type of contest late in the season as it shows the future of the NBA right before your eyes.
Game 82 at LA Clippers
When- Wednesday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific
Where- Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
The regular season concludes with a final trip to the Staples Center to take on the LA Clippers. The Clippers are playoff bound and currently fourth in the Western Conference standings. They are battling with the Utah Jazz for home court in that series, so LA should be playing their stars on Wednesday evening.
Look for a vintage Chris Paul performance on Wednesday to seal the victory and the higher seed for his Clippers.
Summary
There you have it, a look at the final two regular season games for the Sacramento Kings. It has been a wild and fast season. It seems like just yesterday it was opening night and optimism was abundant. Now, the season is wrapping up, DeMarcus Cousins is gone, and the Kings young core is playing encouraging basketball.
I hope you tune in and enjoy the final two regular season games. It will be your last chance to watch Kings basketball until next October when preseason rolls around (unless you count Summer League, but that just is not quite the same). Enjoy it while you can.
