The Sacramento Kings lost tonight’s game to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 118-102. Listed down below are the highs and lows of tonight’s game pertaining to the Kings.
HIGHS
Shooting Numbers: The Sacramento Kings’ offense was solid tonight in shooting the ball as they made 49.4% of their shots from the floor, 70% of their shots from the perimeter, and 76.5% of their shots from the free-throw line. The success of Sacramento’s offense heavily relies on their ability to make jump shots at a consistent rate, and fortunately, they were able to do that tonight against a stout San Antonio defense.
Buddy Hield: After having a tough outing yesterday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Buddy Hield rebounded nicely tonight as he was able to score 18 points off 8-14 shooting from the floor. Not only was Buddy an efficient scorer in tonight’s game, but he also was able to rebound and distribute the ball well, recording 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the contest.
Young Bigs: The group of Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere, and Georgios Papagiannis all had solid games tonight as they continue to showcase improvements in their games. For the night, the trio did a little bit of everything as they recorded 38 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks for the game. Be patient Kings fans. The future is looking bright.
LOWS
Darren Collison: On most nights, Darren Collison is one of the best scorers on the Sacramento Kings. But tonight Darren struggled to create points as he recorded 2 points off 1-8 shooting from the floor. Not only was #7 struggling on offense, but defensively, he had the responsibility of guarding San Antonio Spurs’ guard Tony Parker who had a great game recording 16 points and 7 assists while shooting 80% from the floor.
Spur’s Interior Play Big: The group of bigs for Sacramento played well, however, the interior force for San Antonio played even better. The group of LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, David Lee, and Dewayne Dedmon were outstanding tonight as they recorded 57 points and 28 rebounds while shooting 64.7% from the floor.
Rebounding: The rebounding woes continue for Sacramento as they lost the battle of the board tonight to the Spurs by a score of 45-40. Maybe more importantly, the Spurs were able to grab 6 (15-9) more offensive rebound than the Kings tonight which resulted in more chances for the Spurs’ offense to score.
