The Sacramento Kings travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets on January 3, 2017.  This article predicts the Kings’ box score for that game.

The Sacramento Kings head back out on the road to do battle with the Denver Nuggets in their 2017 opener.  This is the first meeting between the two squads this season.

Last time out, the Sacramento Kings were demolished by the Memphis Grizzlies.  The Grizzlies came to Sacramento and walked away with an 112-98 victory.  Below is a highlight video from that game in case you missed the action.

Without further ado, below is my prediction of the Sacramento Kings’ box score for tonight’s contest against the Denver Nuggets.

Box Score Prediction

The Denver Nuggets supply all the ingredients needed for a good old fashioned shootout this season.  They rank 5th in the NBA in pace, 27th in defensive rating, and 13th in offensive rating.  If you view strictly points scored per game the Nuggets clock in at 107.9 per game, which ranks 4th in the Association.  Expect the Nuggets to come out with the hope of creating an end-to-end shootout in Denver tonight.

It is worth mentioning, the Nuggets played on January 2nd at Golden State.  This is the second of a back-to-back after a late night flight.  That should be advantage Kings in tonight’s game.

The injury bug has found the Kings.  The team has listed three rotation players as questionable for tonight’s contest.  Rudy Gay, Ty Lawson, and Arron Afflalo could all be out for the game, so keep an eye out for definitive statuses as tipoff approaches.

If Lawson is out, expect Darren Collison to see a heavy minutes load.  Collison played 39 minutes on New Year’s Eve against Memphis.  With big minutes comes bigger production, so look for a potential breakout game tonight against Denver from DC.

Summary

There you have it, my prediction of the Sacramento Kings’ box score against the Denver Nuggets.  Denver has been an entertaining team to watch this season, so tune in and enjoy tonight’s game.

Hopefully, Sacramento can walk away victorious and start off the new calendar year with a bounce-back win and build some momentum as the All-Star Break approaches.
