In this article, A Royal Pain continues its series of analyzing the entire roster on the Sacramento Kings to see where each player is at their most efficient shooting the ball.

The player that will be evaluated in this piece, power forward Kosta Koufos.

Where To Let It Go?

In his career, Koufos has recorded a career field-goal percentage of 52.9. The reason why Kosta’s shot percentage is so high is because he does most of his scoring inside the paint.

Based on his shooting chart from last season, Kosta’s favorite locations to shoot the ball were anywhere in the paint. The same results apply to his NBA campaign two seasons ago when he was with the Memphis Grizzlies.

In the 2015-2016 season, Kosta recorded percentages of 60.3, 54.4, and 53.2 in the paint areas. In his 2014-2015 campaign, Kosta recorded percentages of 59.7 and 57.5 in the same locations.

Summary

Overall, Kosta Koufos is listed at 7’0”, weighing 265 pounds. His physique is primed to do most of his offensive scoring inside the paint, which is what his two shooting charts show him doing just that.

Basically, if you want to feed Kosta the ball to score, throw it to him the paint because the data shows that it is the only area of the court where Koufos is effective in making shots.
