Ex Kings Scout Banned For Betting On NBA Games

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright….who’s trying to ruin my Thanksgiving weekend?
First we hear that Tyreke Evans has a sprained ankle…again….and now this…
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA has banned ex Sacramento Kings scout Jack Mai for betting on NBA games, which include Sacramento King games. Adrian reported via Twitter and on Yahoo NBA that the NBA has banned Mai from the NBA in any capacity after a year-long investigation revealed that Mai bet on NBA games. The NBA did not find any evidence that Mai used his position to influence any games however…or so they say, to save face.
Mai has informed the media he quit his job with [...]

Kings Have Two Listed On NBA Latino Ranks

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Players | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Wait, what?
What the hell are the NBA Latino Power Ranks? And why am I just learning of this spicy confection now?!
Um, either way – our very own Argentinian terror Andres Nocioni and Dominican Destructor Francisco Garcia made the top 12 list in the most recent NBA Latino Ranks. Though, in all honesty, I’m not sure how great that is…considering there are what, 12 Latino guys in the NBA? Either way…
Also? Where are the other lists? Does the white-boy list not make it past the PR department?

Kings, Celtics, 76ers Talking Trade

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Rumors | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Just a few days ago, it was Emeka Okafor of the Charlotte Bobcats who was on his way to Sacramento. Now today, it’s Sam Dalembert of the Philadelphia 76ers. Marc Stein of ESPN reports the Sacramento Kings are in talks with the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers about a potential three-way deal that would send Dalembert to the land of Kings. In return, Sacramento would send Kenny Thomas to Philadelphia and Andres Nocioni to the Boston Celtics. Brian Scalabrine and Tony Allen would also make the trip to the city of brotherly love while JR Giddens would come to Sacramento. [...]

Kings In Trade Talks For Hornets Center Emeka Okafor

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

I stress these are only talks…nothing is set in stone nor is any deal imminent…but the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Hornets are in preliminary discussions about center Emeka Okafor. New Orleans would be receiving Kenny Thomas and his large 8.7 million dollar expiring contract. Other small pieces may enter the trade talks as well.
As a King fan, it’s a tough trade to process.
One, it takes away Spencer Hawes from the starting lineup…to which some would be happy with, others, not so much. In addition to that, Okafor has a lengthy and somewhat expensive contract which has about 5 years [...]

Sacramento Kings Sweep Weekend

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well hold your hot dog. Not only did the Kings win twice this weekend, they did so in a very impressive way.
On Saturday night, the Kings traveled to Utah, and plastered the Jazz after falling behind by 15 early. The Kings never looked back after an impressive second quarter…continuing to keep their foot on the throttle as they took a 20 point lead into the 4th quarter. The Jazz never gave up and the Kings offense struggled with ball movement in the final 8-10 minutes allowing the gap to be closed to within a few points but the Kings held [...]

Is Kevin Martin Soft?

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Players | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Short answer? No. Long answer? No. Is Kevin Martin injury prone? Eh, tough call since most of his injures are freak, but, Kevin Martin is not a soft player.
Around the interwebz, you’ll see a variety of views and emotions directed at Mr. Martin, most of which are negative and some even downright jackoff-ish, despite the fact that Martin, if the decision were his to make, would have played through a fractured hand. Now, tell me where that is soft exactly?
If I get a paper cut I’m already halfway down the road to the Emergency Room and you are too.

Kevin Martin Fractures Left Wrist

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Kings, Players | COMMENTS: None Yet

The news keeps getting better, doesn’t it? First Andres Nocioni is arrested for drunk driving and then word trickles down that Kevin Martin now has a fractured left wrist.
If you feel like putting on your white lab coat, the Kings medical staff has diagnosed Martin with a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone which oddly enough sounds similar to what happened to me last night.
But no worries, I’m fine, except for the court date on December 19th.
I’m not sure the same can be said for Kevin who’s creating himself quite the Vince Carter tag, sans the whole rolling [...]

Andres Nocioni Arrested For Drunk Driving

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Players | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Well, I was going to do a small update about last nights game…but why waste my time when I can cover a DUI instead!? Super awesome!!
If you haven’t heard yet, Andres Nocioni was arrested last night for driving drunk apperently, reports the Sacramento Bee:
Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Nocioni, 29, was arrested by Sacramento Police and booked into Sacramento County Jail at 3:30 this morning, according to a Sacramento County Jail Web site.
A Sacramento police spokesman said that at about 2 a.m. an officer noticed a motorist southbound on 15th Street near L [...]

Sacramento Kings Sign Ime Udoka

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Kings, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

It wasn’t that long ago that Ime Udoka was the “final piece” to the Spurs championship plans after they snagged him away from the Portland Trailblazers.
To make a long story short, it didn’t really work out that way – and that wasn’t Udoka’s fault.
After his stay in the Alamo, Udoka returned to Portland earlier this season but was waived at the end of the preseason.
Terms of the contract were not released.
This is far from a blockbuster move, but, I’ve always enjoyed Udoka’s game as he plays the right way. He hits shots and plays solid defense…what more can you ask [...]

Kings Defeat Grizzlies In Home Opener

AUTHOR: Bryan | IN: Game Recaps | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Okay, while I enjoyed most of that game, there were a few things that really made me want to shove a fork in my eye. Mainly, this moronic starting lineup that Paul Westphal continues to throw out there. Listen, Sean May and Desmond Mason are good guys…and I’m fine with them wearing the purple and black, but, these two do not need to be any place near the Kings starting five. At all. Both have enough talent and game left in them to come in for a few minutes off the bench, but the Kings are constantly put into holes [...]
