Depending on who you believe, the Sacramento Kings were heavily interested in former Utah Jazz small forward Andrei Kirilenko prior to the ’11-12 season, but, they (along with the New Jersey, now Brooklyn Nets, who were also interested) struck out in the Russian’s services as he finished out his season playing for PBC CSKA Moscow. Now, according to a report from a Russian paper, AK-47 was approached by Kings forward Francisco Garcia and was told he needs to come play in Sacramento this season:

- What were you talking about before the game with Francisco Garcia?

- He told me that I should go to “Sacramento.” To which I replied: “Let’s wait for the 11th (July 11, Kirilenko will consider proposals NBA clubs. – Note.” SE “) – and then talk.

Kirilenko, who was playing against Garcia and the Dominican National team for Olympic qualifying didn’t give the most solid of answers obviously, but with the status of Terrence Williams sill up in the air, the Kings could use a starting caliber small forward on the roster – something AK-47 would bring to the table.

With the Nets now seemingly out of the race financially for Kirilenko’s services, Sacramento does appear to be a potential serious option for the 10 year NBA veteran, but as all things involving the Maloofs – the price has to be cheap just right.
